Protecting your private information is our priority. This Privacy Policy describes the privacy practices for the Teach Safe web site (the “Web Site”) and how the Web Site collects and uses the personal information you provide through it. For the purposes of this Privacy Policy, unless otherwise noted, all references to “Teach Safe,” “we,” “our,” or “us” mean Teach Safe, LLC and www.teachsafe.com; “you” and “your” refer to the user of the Web Site.

Teach Safe is a company that provides drivers education courses directly to students and through companies who provide their own online courses. These companies are referred to as “Partner Companies” in this Privacy Policy. By your use of the Web Site or otherwise providing us with your personal information, you agree to the terms and conditions of this privacy policy and any updates we make. Our Terms of Use Agreement takes precedence over any provision conflicting with our Privacy Policy. This is our complete Privacy Policy and supersedes all earlier versions. It is our policy to use the personally identifiable information we acquire through our Web Site for internal business purposes only and to provide content, products, and services to you that you value and request. We may share any information obtained through this Web Site with Partner Companies. Except for this sharing, and except as required by law or as necessary to fulfill your request for products or services, we do not authorize the use of your personal information by any third party and do not sell your personal information to anyone. We operate and maintain a variety of online security measures to safeguard and keep your information private.

Information Collection and Use

We gather two types of information: (1) personally identifiable information that you supply voluntarily when you order products or services or create a profile and (2) aggregate tracking and site usage information that we gather automatically as you access our Web Site. WE DO NOT COLLECT, ACCEPT, OR STORE PERSONAL INFORMATION REGARDING INDIVIDUALS LOCATED IN THE EUROPEAN UNION. If you are located in the European Union, you are not authorized to provide any personal information to us in any manner, whether through the Web Site or otherwise.

Personally-Identifiable Information You Provide to Us.

Anyone can access our Web Site, but there are certain areas and services that require registration or providing certain personal information if accessed, such as by creating a profile and purchasing products or services. If you choose to make a purchase or use such areas, we will ask for certain personally identifiable information, which may include name, mailing address, valid e-mail address, age, driver’s license number, and payment information. We strive to keep all personal information that you voluntarily provide us private. We do not share your personal information with third parties without your consent.

Aggregate Information that is Automatically Collected. Cookies.

Information about your computer hardware and software may be automatically collected by Teach Safe. This information can include your IP address, browser type, domain names, access times and referring website addresses. This information is used for the operation of the service, to maintain quality of the service, and to provide general statistics regarding use of the Teach Safe website.

Teach Safe encourages you to review the privacy statements of websites you choose to link to from Teach Safe so that you can understand how those websites collect, use, and share your information. Teach Safe is not responsible for the privacy statements or other content on websites outside of the Teach Safe website.

The Teach Safe website may use “cookies” to help you personalize your online experience. A cookie is a text file that is placed on your hard disk by a web page server. Cookies cannot be used to run programs or deliver viruses to your computer. Cookies are uniquely assigned to you and can only be read by a web server in the domain that issued the cookie to you.

One of the primary purposes of cookies is to provide a convenience feature to save you time. The purpose of a cookie is to tell the web server that you have returned to a specific page. For example, if you personalize Teach Safe pages, or register with the Teach Safe site or services, a cookie helps Teach Safe to recall your specific information on subsequent visits. This simplifies the process of recording your personal information, such as billing addresses, shipping addresses, and so on. When you return to the same Teach Safe website, the information you previously provided can be retrieved, so you can easily use the Teach Safe features that you customized. In addition, by showing how and when visitors use the Web Site, cookies help us track user trends and patterns.

You have the ability to accept or decline cookies. Most Web browsers automatically accept cookies, but you can usually modify your browser setting to decline cookies if you prefer. If you choose to decline cookies, you may not be able to fully experience the interactive features of the Teach Safe services or websites you visit. Furthermore, if you disable cookies, the Teach Safe website may not function as expected.

Use of Your Personal Information

Teach Safe collects and uses your personal information to operate its website(s) and deliver the services you have requested.

This information may be provided to Partner Companies administering a course or user account via this Web Site. It may also be provided by us or by the Partner Company to governmental licensing or permitting authorities, such as a state or federal Department of Transportation or similar agencies. By using this Web Site, you expressly consent to this sharing of your non-public personal information with Partner Companies and governmental agencies.

Teach Safe may also use your personally identifiable information to inform you of other products or services available from Teach Safe and its affiliates. Teach Safe may also contact you via surveys to conduct research about your opinion of current services or of potential new services that may be offered.

Teach Safe does not sell, rent, or lease its customer lists to third parties.

Teach Safe may share data with trusted partners to help perform statistical analysis, send you email or postal mail, provide customer support, or arrange for deliveries. All such third parties are prohibited from using your personal information except to provide these services to Teach Safe, and they are required to maintain the confidentiality of your information.

In addition to those disclosures expressly described elsewhere in this Privacy Policy, Teach Safe will disclose your personal information, without notice, only if required to do so by law or in the good faith belief that such action is necessary to: (a) conform to the edicts of the law or comply with legal process served on Teach Safe or the site; (b) protect and defend the rights or property of Teach Safe; and, (c) act under exigent circumstances to protect the personal safety of users of Teach Safe or the public.

Do Not Track

Teach Safe tracks its customers over time, but not across third party web sites and not to provide targeted advertising, and therefore does not respond to Do Not Track (DNT) signals. Teach Safe does not track its customers across third-party websites. However, some third-party sites do keep track of your browsing activities when they serve you content, which enables them to tailor what they present to you. If you are visiting such sites, your web browser may allow you to set the DNT signal on your browser so that third parties (particularly advertisers) know you do not want to be tracked. Third parties cannot collect any personally identifiable information from Teach Safe’s Web Site unless you provide it to them directly.

Security of Your Personal Information

Teach Safe makes every effort to secure your personal information from unauthorized access, use, or disclosure, although it cannot be 100% guaranteed, as no method is absolutely tamperproof. When personal information (such as a credit card number) is transmitted to other websites, it is protected through the use of encryption, such as the Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) protocol. The Web Site does not accept incoming requests that are insecure. Such requests will be upgraded to use SSL to ensure data transmission security. User accounts on this Web Site are secured by an e-mail address and password. Users agree to safely and responsibly store those credentials and not to share them. Furthermore, Teach Safe ensures that user passwords are not stored by or accessible to Teach Safe or its employees. Teach Safe recommends users not use the same password across multiple websites. Teach Safe also provides an API to Partner Companies to allow remote user registration and other related types of information exchange. This API is secured by a key unique to the Partner Company and is kept private to the company. In turn, the Partner Company agrees to keep it private and not share it, treating it as securely as a password. Teach Safe recommends periodic key generation to help ensure the highest security is maintained. Furthermore, while Teach Safe makes every effort to keep user and Partner Company information secure, it is ultimately the responsibility of the user and Partner Company to keep user and Partner Company information safe and secure by adopting sound data security practices, including not sharing the information with unauthorized parties.

Third Party Services

www.teachsafe.com’s Partner Companies use a PCI-compliant third-party service called Stripe.com to process charges made to student accounts. At no point does credit card information come into contact with www.teachsafe.com servers, nor is stored with www.teachsafe.com. For those using Stripe.com, Stripe.com handles all aspects of the payment processing and storage on Teach Safe’s or the Partner Company’s behalf, and only operates via encrypted communication using SSL/https. Stripe has been audited by a PCI- certified auditor and is certified to PCI Service Provider Level 1. This is the most stringent level of certification available. You can find more about Stripe.com security at https://stripe.com/help/security. Please see Stripe.com terms for more information about their service and privacy policy: https://stripe.com/us/terms. For those using Authorize.NET (see https://www.authorize.net/) or PayPal (see https://www.paypal.com/) to process payment from their students, as in the usage of Stripe.com, the payment is collected similarly in that credit card information does not come into contact with www.teachsafe.com servers, nor is stored with www.teachsafe.com in any way.

As outlined in our Terms of Use Agreement, Teach Safe collects payment information only from Partner Companies; it does not collect payment information from other users, including students and guardians. A Partner Company may use technology available to it through Teach Safe to facilitate the payment process from a student to the partner. Teach Safe is not a party to such transactions and will retain no information regarding the transaction. Teach Safe only provides software services and tools to the partner, which the partner may use to create an end user/student account.
